Costa Rican trumpeter Erick Sánchez has been the lead player for the premier groups and orchestras of popular music in his country for the last fifteen years, including jazz bands, Latin music, and Concert Bands. Erick began his studies at university of Costa Rica with Ricardo Vargas (former student of V. Cichowics). He has traveled with his music to Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, Richmond, Virginia, Miami, Puerto Rico and Central America. As a Lead trumpet he has been invited to perform with national and international groups and soloists, such as Cheo Feliciano, Celia Cruz, Ismael Miranda, Tony Vega, Maelo Ruiz, Miguel Ríos, Lalo Rodríguez, Kevin Cevallos, Los Rabanes, Chichi Peralta, Giselle, Andy Montañés, Jossie Esteban, Johnny Ventura, Orquesta Sinfónica de Costa Rica, Orquesta Filarmónica, Son de Tiquicia, Por Partes, Mentados, Gyro, Guayacán, Los Sabrosos del Merengue and Mickey Taveras among others.
He is currently a principal trumpet of the Alajuela National Concert Band, studio recording artist and owner of Erick Sánchez y su Orquesta
